Each autumn the partners elect a nominated cause to be the firm’s Charity of the Year for the following calendar year. The firm support this charity by joining in events, donating “oath fees”, promoting the charity on our website, newsletters and emails and by ad-hoc collections and donations.
For 2016 that charity is Norwood, a leading Jewish charity supporting vulnerable children, families and people with learning disabilities. Norwood was founded over 200 years ago and is one of the UK’s oldest charities.
At Norwood, they understand the individual needs and ambitions of each child, young person and adult that they support and they offer a wide range of services that enable them to personalise what they offer.
Norwood works with three core principles...
- HOME - Children and their families facing individual challenges
- SCHOOL - Children and young people with special educational needs
- LIFE - People with learning disabilities and autism throughout their lives
Additionally, the firm supports the efforts of the London Legal Support Trust, an independent charity set up in 2004 to raise funds for free legal advice services in London and the South East. We have entered teams in the London Legal Walk in 2012 and 2013 and two members of Freemans’ staff have jumped out of an aeroplane to help raise much needed funds for this very worthy cause.
Other members of our team support many other charitable causes in a number of ways, including participating in the annual London Legal Walk, cycle rides, cake bakes and teaching in Tanzania on a pro bono basis.
